Rainy Saturday
Well I spent today doing a whole lot of nothing...I went and got my drug test done and that hardly took any time at all. Then, I proceeded to sit on my ass and read for about 3 hours or so. That was wonderful---I started this book yesterday and I will probably finish it tomorrow, I'm more than 3/4 through. Then I caught up on some scrapbooking.It was raining almost all day, but after it let up a little I went out exploring...there was a Street Fair going on right outside my apartment, so I walked up and down that. It was cool, because this kind of thing is a weekly occurance in NY but in Richmond it has to be 4th of July or something. I got a light green faux pearl necklace for two bucks. Also, while I was walking up and down the streets I got to look at all the things near me. I found some familiar things: KFC (only a block away-yessss!), Subway (the sandwich place), Walgreens, Hair Cuttery. I also discovered that there are a TON of little pubs and such all down 75th, which will be nice once I have some people come visit me. There is even a "Mo's Tequila Bar" right behind my apartment, which of course made me think of Jess and April. It seems like if I ever get bored I can just walk up and down the streets and find SOMETHING to do. It's awesome.
Pam (my mom's cousin) called and invited me to a block party at her place tomorrow, it should be fun. I will get to meet her family and eat food and have good times.
Oh, on another note, Xander, the son of the woman who is letting me stay here, gave me the number to a woman that lives in this building that he helps out every weekend. He goes into her apartment 2ce a day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when she is gone and feeds her cat. For this she pays him $10 PER TIME. So, $60 a weekend. For taking the elevator downstairs and filling up a food bowl. Anyways, he is going to be gone for 3 weeks so I am going to do this while he is gone. So basically I will be making $180, and I am paying Vicky $120 to stay here----so I am actually coming out $60 on top.

That must be a pretty special cat first of all... but that's a sweet deal. And if Jess and I come visit we muct go to the Tequila Bar haha.
